Our team member development programs cultivate the talent in our own backyard. At Sterling, we benefit from the multi-faceted personalities of our Team Members. That's why we encourage growth-centered partnerships between Team Members and active participation in the Mentor and Mentee roles.

    In GEM (Growth through Employee Mentoring), hourly Team Members are paired with an experienced Mentor who currently works in the Mentee's career area of interest or department. Over six months, the Mentee receives an "insider's look" at another career role, while keeping the position he/she has. Through GEM, Mentees gain visibility and the opportunity to shine in front of a new pool of managers and departments.

    The Connections program is a one-year mentoring program that matches exempt-level Team Members with Sterling leaders for a significant purpose: to help Team Members maximize their value, career performance, and potential. A win-win situation, Connections Mentees build career-enhancing relationships, tools, and networking opportunities. At the same time, Connections Mentors join a prestigious group of executives who participate in shaping future leaders and success stories.
